Maeda / The Warmth Collection

A collection of unique pieces born of time and reintroduced to the present day. Acrylic blankets from Greece, designed to provide warmth in the home in the 1970s and 1980s, are transformed into a small collection of one-of-a-kind vests! The blanket — an object directly linked to everyday life, the body and intimacy — is detached from its original purpose and reimagined as clothing. Using the same material in a completely new context. Each piece is one of a kind — an item carrying decades of history that has reappeared in the present as a contemporary identity statement. The fabrics were individually selected from sources throughout Greece to preserve their authentic colours, textures and patterns. They are accompanied by vintage collectible buttons that add another layer of history to the garment. The Warmth Collection speaks of our relationship with time, transition and the enduring value of material that is transformed, not lost. It is about warmth that changes form but is never lost.
